A little girl in the slum is the last born of multiple children from a couple who have died of AIDS. The grandmother does her best to take care of her, but cannot afford to pay for school fees to keep her at school. The girl has just been diagnosed as HIV positive. The family is Muslim. There does not appear to be an answer for her.

This describes one life of one person in Kenya that we have been able to touch with your help. With support from a church in America, she was given a scholarship to attend a Christian school in the slum that WMI has partnered with. Studying the bible and singing worship songs is part of the curriculum at this school. Muslims and people of all faiths are happy to have the opportunity to attend this good school located in the slum. Many graduate and go on to top High Schools and Colleges. The girl has found hope and the love of Christ through this opportunity.

A pair of twins were found in the slum who could not walk and go to school. Trisha went to visit and found that they both had a bad case of jiggers. Jiggers is a parasite found in unclean environments like the slums that burrow into the feet until the eggs hatch in a few weeks, leaving severe inflammation and blisters. With the help of social workers, Trisha brought them to a nearby orphanage to treat the jiggers and feed the children back to health.

Baby Benedict is one of 14 orphan babies that we have invested in over the last 6 years. His mother was 14 years old when she had him. The pregnancy was a result from when her father had raped her earlier. She was removed from the home and put into an orphanage and we helped baby Benedict for several months until he got adopted. Each child has their own story, some which are hard to believe.

These are just a few examples of some of the things that we are involved with here in Kenya. We cannot do these things without your help. Please join us in prayer and support to help us, help them. God bless you.
